The SL (single laser) versions of the VT-Infinity product family provide all of the advantages of the core confocal technology embodied in each confocal head, while keeping the cost and the footprint of each system to a minimum. The single laser, together with intensity control and fast shuttering of the illumination, is incorporated into the control module for the confocal head. These cost-effective solutions can be expanded should the need arise for additional laser lines in the future. The standard configuration houses a 50mW 488nm laser, but is customisable to other laser lines.
